Introductions:

Secretary’s note:  I wish that all new neighbors were able to hear the introductions from the attending neighbors.    We had 16 neighbors that have been in the Kirkwood neighborhood for many years and were able to communicate what makes them love the neighborhood.    It was very moving and hopefully the sincerity was shown to our new neighbor that just moved into Kirkwood.

Board Report – Teresa Roscoe

1)      Growth in our property values

2)     Acknowledgement of our social committee and board members who volunteer their services

Finance Report – Regina Schardt and Terry Thorn

1)      Dues proposal has passed and it was noted that there will be no dues increase in 2026

2)     Noted that the maintenance costs of our common areas continued to increase

Committee Reports

Communications & Technology – Lendon Crosby – no update

Hospitality (Membership & Welcoming) – Lisa Katzman

1)      It was noted that Lisa continues to receive multiple requests daily for access to our private Facebook account – Lisa has implemented that the requestor requires a home visit from our hospitality committee in order to added to the group.  This is for the security of our Facebook group.

2)      Lisa continues to look for ways to welcome new neighbors.    She welcomes any suggestions

Restrictions & Plan Approval/Architecture Committee – Bill Fay

Reminder that any modifications to your building structure must be approved prior to getting township permits.   Also, noted that sheds are not permitted under any circumstance and fences are not allowed except when required for enclosing a pool in accordance with safety regulations.

                   Upcoming events

Halloween Parade and Party – Sunday, October 26, 2025 at 3 PM   The parade route starts at the corner of Sutters/Hedgewood, goes up Sutters to Kingsmill, back down to Hedgewood/Sutters

Winter Solstice Walk   Sunday, December 21, 2025  at dusk

Open Discussion

Trash cans being viewed from the street and other violations of township ordinances.   If you want to report an issue and do not want to go directly to the township for privacy reasons you can email Bill Fay at wmcfay@gmail.com to remain anonymous

Motor bikes – increasing amount of motor bikes/scooters in the neighborhood that violate traffic laws and are riding on neighbors property.   Please educate your children in traffic rules and respect of properties

Lighting – out of respect for others walking in the evenings and animals – please refrain from having bright LED lights on your property.

No mow May – discussed and understood that the township does not support this – all landscaping must be less than 8 inches.   Discussed alternatives such as plantings that attract bee pollinators

Election of 2026 Officers

The current officers have agreed to stand for re-election.   No new nominees were submitted.   In the future if you are interested in becoming more involved (which is encouraged) we would be happy to welcome you and introduce you to the board and committee groups.
